When a mother creates a gift registry, she indicates to a store which items she prefers gifted at her shower. The store keeps this list of items and scratches off each item as they are purchased by shower guests. This ensures a gift is not duplicated!

When creating a gift registry, a mother must decide which store, stores or website to host her registry. Registries can be created at the store or online.

Choose stores convenient for your guests, preferably ones where items can be purchased online. Consult our baby shower registry checklist to choose with the best items to put on your gift registry.

Make sure to inform guests about the registry when sending out baby shower invites. And then have your mommy-in-waiting get ready to receive just the items needed for her baby!

Important reminder: If having multiple baby gift or baby shower registries, make sure the same items are not duplicated across multiple registries. If you want 12 onesies, don't request 12 onesies on 3 different registries! However, requesting 4 onesies on 3 different sites would ensure you don't receive more than twelve of them!
