Baby item guessing game

The baby item guessing game has guests feeling, shaking, smelling and listening to wrapped packages while attempting to guess their contents.

Eight to twelve baby items are purchased and gift wrapped before the baby shower. One by one the wrapped gifts are passed around to guests. One by one, guests examine each gift and guess its contents. The guesses are written down on a sheet of paper. The player with the most correct guesses wins a prize!

A daring hostess might fiddle with the rules of this game just a bit. Include the same baby item in two separate packages since people would doubt the same item is used twice. Or one could wrap combine two baby items in one single package. And finally, package an item only remotely related to babies. Wrap up a 'Baby Face' CD and see if anyone can guess this correctly!

Alter the rules for these baby showers
This versatile baby shower game can be altered to fit other themes:

Airplane baby shower theme - Include items related to airlines and flying (peanuts, pretzels, coffee, tea)
Blue baby shower theme - Have players guess blue-wrapped gifts.
Baseball baby shower - Include ballpark favorites in a package or two. Wrap up peanuts, pretzels, sunflower seeds or similar.
Bumble bee baby shower theme - Only wrap up items starting with the letter B.
Bun in the oven baby shower theme - Have guests guess wrapped up kitchen items.
Farm baby shower theme - Wrap up farm related items and products from the farm (cheese, jerky, dried milk)
Rainbow baby shower - Wrap each gift in a rainbow colored paper.
